6. Alexander² McIlvaine (John¹) (#12) was born in "Missing Place" no. 258 about 1629. Alexander died before 1719 in Aughnacloy, Tyronne Co.Ir, at age unknown.

When Alexander was age 40 and Miss McAdam was age 40 they became the parents of Andrew Mcilvaine 1669 in "Missing Place" no. 263. Alexander, son of John and Anne Corrie McIlvaine, during the disturbed times incident to the religious persecutions, the brutal repressions of the Covenanters by the English in the late 1600's, left Scotland for Ireland. He settled in Co. Tyronne. His wf. was a McAdam of the same family as the road builder. John Loudon McAdam. She had 2 bros., William and Andrew.
