67. Arthur Cicero9 McIlvaine (Joseph Thomas8, Greer7, George6, John5, James4, Andrew3 Mcilvaine, Alexander2 McIlvaine, John1)(12) (#70) was born in Franklin Co., Oh 30 Mar 1873. Arthur died 2 Jun 1956 in Col., Franklin Co., Oh, at age 83. His body was interred date unknown in Walnut Grove Cem.(13)

He married Roberta Joslin 1893 in Del.or Franklin Co., Oh. (Roberta Joslin is #75.) Roberta was born 21 Aug 1874 in Delaware Co., Oh. Roberta was the daughter of Charles C. Joslin and Harriet Powers. Roberta died 4 Nov 1903 Lazell Rd., Delaware Co., Oh., at age 29. When Roberta was age 19 and Arthur Cicero McIlvaine was age 20 they became the parents of Annabelle Lee McIlvain 22 Dec 1893 in Delaware Co., Oh. When Roberta was age 21 and Arthur Cicero McIlvaine was age 22 they became the parents of Fancheon McIlvaine 9 Dec 1895 in Delaware Co., Oh. When Roberta was age 22 and Arthur Cicero McIlvaine was age 24 they became the parents of Maude Merrell McIlvain 15 JUL 1897 in Delaware Co., Ohio. When Roberta was age 25 and Arthur Cicero McIlvaine was age 26 they became the parents of Clarice Marcella McIlvain 12 Jan 1900 in Franklin Co., Oh. Robert d. as a result of a buggy accident on Lazell Rd.. She was pregnant and it was said the baby, a boy, arrived early and d., she lived a few days. The "girls were roughly aged 9,7 5 and 3. Her death had life long effect upon the girls.

Arthur was employed date unknown. When Arthur was age 20 and Roberta Joslin was age 19 they became the parents of Annabelle Lee McIlvain 22 Dec 1893 in Delaware Co., Oh. When Arthur was age 22 and Roberta Joslin was age 21 they became the parents of Fancheon McIlvaine 9 Dec 1895 in Delaware Co., Oh. When Arthur was age 24 and Roberta Joslin was age 22 they became the parents of Maude Merrell McIlvain 15 JUL 1897 in Delaware Co., Ohio. When Arthur was age 26 and Roberta Joslin was age 25 they became the parents of Clarice Marcella McIlvain 12 Jan 1900 in Franklin Co., Oh. Artie m. Alta Grace just a few years after Roberta d. She was the unm. sister of one of his friends. She was not the kindest of step mothers and caused much unhappiness for the girls. They had no children. I spent time in Flint with the Artie and Altie. She was never unkind to me; she was a rather simple person and certainly not in the class as our grandmother, Roberta. If you'll notice Grandma "Cellie" named their sons alphabetically - A rthur, Johney B urr, C lay Orville, Joseph D wight, and E rnest Hadley. She was a tiny woman and her boys were all over 6 ft. and strapping. Their Dad put salt and pepper in them. Artie farmed on a small scale and mainly earned his living painting interiors and hanging wall paper. He did have an artistic sensitivity and appreciation. When he lost his first love and was faced with raising 4 little girls, he was overwhelmed and never seemed to recover, jovial, kindly but with an underlying sadness.Roberta d. as a result of a buggy accident on Lazell Rd.. child 72 i. Annabelle Lee10 McIlvain (#77) was born in Delaware Co., Oh 22 Dec 1893. Annabelle died 22 OCT 1993 in Worthington,Franklin Co.,Ohio, at age 99. Ann m. Charles T. Naddy. He was b. abt 1895. He was the son of Jos. Naddy. Charles d. Mar. 11 1944. "Aunt Buke" and Uncle Charlie never had ch.. They owned and operated a "radio store" at Long and 3rd Sts. in Cols.. Eventually they also sold refrigerators and other electrical appliances. This was all in the early 20's till late '30's when Uncle Charlie was advised by his Dr. to get away from the pressure so they retired to Coral Gables,Fla..He was abt 49 yrs.. They earlier had been the harbor for the other 3 girls as their first marriages fell apart. Their mother having d. when they were so young,they had looked to Ann and she had tried to fill the mother role for them. It was tough on her. Ann and Charlie took in us children along with our mothers and helped our mothers find jobs and housing.Aunt Buke is buried in Walnut Grove Cem. on the plot by her father and mother and later Aunt Clarice. Uncle Charlie was buried with his family in St Joseph Cem., Columbus.

child 75 iv. Clarice Marcella McIlvain (#80) was born in Franklin Co., Oh 12 Jan 1900. Clarice died 19 Dec 1984 in Columbus,Franklin Co.,Ohio, at age 84. Clarice was m. 3 times with 2 divorces - 1st Claude Gheen, 2nd Robert Thrush and 3rd Bart Farina. She worked in food service. First as a hostess at the University Club in Cols.. She joined Ohio Bell Telephone and eventually retired from the position of Purchasing Manager of their food services for the Northern Division of OBT - at that time the highest paid woman with the Co.. She suffered injuries while a young woman when an elevator in downtown Cols. broke loose and fell several floors while she was aboard. Those injuries resulted in her inability to bear a child. She was an artist with brush and pen.Clarice is buried in family plot in Walnut Grove. Bart d. July 1981 and is buried with his first wf. in Cleveland, Oh..
